I have known Barton McMillan for twenty years as a neighbor, friend, and fellow church member. Until recently, I had not had an opportunity to work with him professionally through Home Creations. We engaged Home Creations in November 2012 to paint the inside and outside of our home, to remodel one bathroom, and to update two other bathrooms. I couldn’t be more pleased with the work that was done. Home Creations was professional, organized, and responsive to my concerns and needs. The people performing the work were knowledgeable, courteous, and thoughtful in working with me. They treated my home like it was their own and cleaned up every day before they left, protected the contents, asked the right questions when necessary, and were a pleasure to have in my home. Barton McMillan has been doing work for our family off-and-on for several years now – and for good reason. He and his people have consistently provided spot-on advice and top quality work. Our first meetings with Barton concerned the renovation of our home. We had some ideas for the renovation and half even obtained some architectural plans (which we liked) but we had some uncertainty about some of the details and whether the project as designed was worth what it would cost. I have had the opportunity to work with Barton on numerous projects. Barton takes a hands-on approach and always accompanies his clients to make tile selections for their living spaces. As a designer, Barton makes my job easier because he is prepared with the correct dimension, paint colors, cabinet colors, granite choices, etc. He takes time and makes the extra effort to get to know his customers personally; therefore the look they want to accomplish is easily attainable. Barton is extremely knowledgeable, always easy to work with and professional. When we received the request to provide a testimonial letter for Home Creations, LLC and its owner, Baron McMillan, we were at once flattered and in a quandary: How could we possibly condense our pleasure and satisfaction with our remodeling/renovation in only a letter? Oh, well, we’ll try. Our 50+ years-old home had four bedrooms and two bathrooms on the main level. Two of the bedrooms were very small and were joined by a “Jack & Jill” bathroom that was literally as wide as the bathtub was long. You get the picture. Barton designed and executed a plan that included gutting the two small bedrooms and bathroom and then creating a large master suite with a walk-in closet and a very large bath complete with a benched shower, double mirrored sinks, and linen closet which has become a showplace, especially the overhead shower. Cosmetic changes were made to the former master bathroom that updated it, and also created a very inviting guest bathroom. Not wanting to spend the money necessary for new kitchen cabinets, Barton suggested updating the existing cabinets with bead board and new hardware. Home Creations helped us take our empty lot and a concept we had for a home from a pipe dream to reality. We now live in our beautiful home that has everything in it that we could envision wanting in a home. The process from planning to completion was painless and smooth, especially when compared to what we have seen others go through! Home Creations remodeled our master bath and turned it into a personal Spa. All of the subcontractors were professional and masters of their craft. The crews were courteous, knowledgeable, highly skilled and took extra effort in making this remodel one that was actually a pleasant experience. The job was completed in the time frame laid out by Barton and all of the crews arrived as scheduled. They worked diligently to complete each phase of the project and took exceptional care to cause us the least amount of inconvenience. Home Creations, LLC, under the supervision of Barton McMillan, recently completed a renovation to our 1963 home that included the construction of a new master suite (bedroom, bathroom, and walk-in closet). The project added 600 square feet to our existing home and incorporated the pouring of a new slab, the framing of a new roof, and the correcting of minor repairs to our entire house. Throughout the construction, we found the workers professional, friendly, and respectful to us and of our property. We expected a quality job and, in the end, we were more than satisfied with the thoroughness of the project and of the supervision given. ...I want you to know that Dana and I discussed this tonight and we have been extraordinarily impressed by your crew. Their professionalism, their competence, the work that they have completed to this point is all truly exceptional. You have truly minimized what is always a stressful process – having our home invaded and turned upside down for a while. Please share this with the men who have been doing this work.
